Why WM?

Latest Technology-

Here at War Machine we strive to provide the best components possible in our systems. Keeping up with the latest and greatest in the PC world is not an easy task, but being PC enthusiasts ourselves makes this possible.

We test and validate numerous components for our Extreme, Elite, and Elite LC configurations, and in the end only those which pass our rigorous testing procedures and meet or exceed our quality standards make it into our War Machine systems.

24/7

Support War Machine has always offered 24/7 support for our customers. Our associates here are gamers, overclockers, system builders, and overall enthusiasts. This is why we can relate better with our customers. We know when new hardware, games, software, and games release. All War Machine Support Agents have real hands on experience with War Machine systems and stay up to date with new technology as it comes out.

Stability Testing

Stability is key; being enthusiasts and overclockers ourselves we have engrained this into our building process. We do offer free CPU overclocking upon request, so once the War Machine is assembled and has the Operating System installed we fine tune the BIOS settings for a stable 24/7 Overclock.

Environment

We start the stability testing by setting the correct testing environment, a dedicated room that has ~100 degrees F ambient temperature. Prime95 Next we use a program called Prime95 25.6 to test the CPU and Memory stability.

Prime95

A program written to find new Mersenne prime numbers, over the years it has become the standard stability testing utility for PC enthusiasts and overclockers around the world.

There are different torture tests within Prime95 and the first one we use is the Small FFTs, this provides maximum utilization and heat output from the CPU.

Once Small FFT test has run for 4 hours without errors we move on to the Blend test.

The Blend test stresses the CPU, Memory, and subsystem as a whole, once we can run the Blend test error free for 8 hours we can move on to the next test.

3DMark06

Now that the CPU, Memory, and subsystem have passed the stability testing we move on to testing 3D graphics stability.

For this testing we used a program called 3DMark06, which is a benchmark utility which renders different 3D scenes in Shader Model 2.0 and 3.0.

We set 3DMark06 to a high resolution and turn up the Anti-Aliasing to 4x and the Anisotropic Filtering to 16x to put as much stress on the graphics card(s) as possible. We leave the test looping continuously, once the system runs 3DMark06 for 4 hours without crashing, freezing, or showing graphical anomalies it has passed the 3D testing.

Prime95+3DMark06

To most, once the above testing has run error free they would deem a system stable, but for a system to be deemed stable by War Machine it has to pass a few more tests. The War Machine is then set to run Prime95 blend while looping 3DMark06, this test will run overnight and it will simultaneously stress the CPU, memory, subsystem, and graphics card(s). Once the War Machine has passed this torture testing we can now move on to testing the other functionalities.

PCMark05

Overall system benchmark program which is great to test for functionality. This program features 13 tests to measure system-wide performance, which include performance testing of the Hard Disk drives, Network, Windows boot time, and multi-tasking capability.

Once all PCMark05 tests have passed our technicians check for the other system functionalities which include sound testing, optical drive operation, and properly functioning fans.

Other Utilities Used

GPU Z

Lightweight utility designed to give you all information about your video card and GPU. It is used to check graphics card frequencies, temperatures, and specifications to make sure your video card is working optimal ability.

CPU Z

CPU-Z is a utility that gathers information on some of the main components of your system. You are able to view CPU, Motherboard, Memory, and Operating system information.
